The Syracuse University School of Education is guided by the principles of Inclusive and Anti-Racist Pedagogy and Practice; Digital Pedagogy and Practice; and Experiential Pedagogy and Practice. The School houses programs and degrees in English Education, Inclusive Elementary and Special Education, Mathematics Education, Music Education, Science Education, Selected Studies in Education, and Social Studies Education. Additionally, the school offers graduate degree programs in the areas of Teacher Preparation, Inclusive & Special Education, Educational Research & Leadership, Counseling, and Instructional Design.
History
The School of Education was established in 1906 as the Margaret Olivia Slocum Teachers College. It became the School of Education in 1934.
