At the Center for Policy Research (CPR), experts from diverse fields explore policy issues through a range of different disciplinary lenses—primarily economics, public administration, political science, and sociology.

Our community includes faculty, research staff, and students who conduct and support research on pressing problems related to education, labor, health, social welfare, the environment, and more. Our goal is to develop knowledge that enables leaders to break through complexity in order to make meaningful policy decisions and provide effective solutions.

CPR is the home of the Center for Policy Design and Governance (CPDG), the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion and Population Health, the Maxwell X Lab, and the Program on Educational Equity and Policy (PEEPs).

Camp Econometrics is an annual conference that brings together econometricians and empirical economists from a wide range of universities and institutions around the world. It is hosted by Professor Badi Baltagi and the Center for Policy Research. The goals of the conference each year are to:

  1. discuss issues in econometrics, both applied and theoretical;
  2. present papers for comments by participants;
  3. stimulate student interest in econometrics and;
  4. help students develop their technical presentation skills by encouraging them to participate in the meetings, contribute to poster sessions, and present papers.
