The Maxwell School Center for Policy Research (CPR) conducts a broad range of interdisciplinary research and other activities related to public policy, involving graduate students as assistants and junior colleagues. The Center includes faculty from several departments within the Maxwell School, mainly Economics, Public Administration, and Sociology. This collection of specialists brings a depth of experience and skill to research. We believe this interdisciplinary approach can provide the most comprehensive assessment of many social problems thereby serving as a resource to policymakers, allowing them to make informed decisions. CPR is the home of the Education Finance and Accountability Program (EFAP) and houses the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion and the Maxwell X Lab.

Camp Econometrics is an annual conference that brings together econometricians and empirical economists from a wide range of universities and institutions around the world. It is hosted by Professor Badi Baltagi and the Center for Policy Research. The goals of the conference each year are to:

  1. discuss issues in econometrics, both applied and theoretical;
  2. present papers for comments by participants;
  3. stimulate student interest in econometrics and;
  4. help students develop their technical presentation skills by encouraging them to participate in the meetings, contribute to poster sessions, and present papers.
