History

The David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics was formed out of a multitude of historical schools and departments. The earliest roots of the college were established in 1918 as the School of Home Economics, renamed the College of Home Economics in 1918 and then the College for Human Development in 1971. Other historical schools which predated Falk as we know it today include the establishment of the School of Nursing in 1942 (became the College of Nursing in 1982) and the School of Social Work in 1955. In 2001, the College for Human Development, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work merged to form the College of Human Services and Health Professionals. This was renamed to the College of Human Ecology in 2007 then became the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics in 2011.
