The Department of Child and Family Studies (CFS) was involved in the scientific investigation of children and families. Students engage in multidisciplinary learning about the challenges facing families and children across social, cultural, and contextual settings. CFS students learn about the strengths and resiliency factors that foster healthy family and child development. The Department offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, and provides students with academic preparation and practical experience for understanding and working with children and families across a variety of settings. This Department is now the Department of Human Development and Family Science.
