Description/Abstract
A professor places students in small groups to complete a task and one student (audibly) objects to being asked to work with students “who don’t even speak English.” The professor’s inaction in the moment and subsequent opportunity to address the students raises issues of what to say, when to say it, and whether responses should be public or private.
