Abstract

This thesis represents the culmination of my work and growth as an artist during my three years of study in the illustration program at Syracuse University. I briefly revisit my origins and inspirations to becoming an artist. I also offer insight about my creative process, struggles and growth as an emerging illustrator.

The current body of work that ensues, explores short and long-term effects on children’s psyches due to childhood trauma and loss. It embodies my motivation to further investigate the topics I researched, internalized and illustrated.
