Abstract
This paper presents a comparative analysis of pediatric practices in France and the United States, integrating literature review with firsthand clinical experience. Based on an internship in Strasbourg under pediatric specialists, the study examines pediatric roles in private practice and neonatology, highlighting specialties including allergy, rheumatology, and nephrology. Ob-servations from clinical rotations at Sainte-Anne Clinic and Saint Luc Hospital emphasize pa-tient education, parental involvement, and comprehensive preventive care. The paper contrasts the French and American healthcare systems across administration, documentation, vacci-nation policy, and access to care. Notable distinctions include the French Carnet de Santé as a lifelong pediatric health record, universal health coverage in France, and national vaccination mandates compared to U.S. state-based policies. While both systems face challenges such as rising costs, workforce shortages, and chronic disease prevalence, cross-national collaboration could bridge systemic gaps. This analysis demonstrates how pediatric practices reflect broader healthcare priorities and offers insights for improving the equity and quality of child healthcare.
