Description/Abstract
Formal and informal mentorship can significantly accelerate business growth, strengthen capabilities, and shorten the learning curve for entrepreneurs ready to scale. This session explores both structured mentorship opportunities through the SBA and Department of Energy, and the value of building informal mentor relationships within your network. Jennifer Vollbrecht, USMC veteran and entrepreneur, will provide practical examples of utilizing mentorships, joint ventures, strategic advisory boards and networking to build her company. J Vollbrecht Consulting has been on the Inc 5000 and Vet100 list in 2025 and 2026. Attendees will learn how to identify the right mentor, develop as an effective protégé, and navigate opportunities such as joint ventures. The session will provide practical strategies for leveraging formal and informal mentorship to expand your business with greater confidence and intention. Fourth Friday Masterclasses are open to all IVMF alumni and military‑connected entrepreneurs.
