The Louise Wetherbee Phelps Award recognizes excellence in writing in the Writing Program’s courses. Submissions are evaluated on depth, complexity, technical control, emotional and intellectual appeal, and how well they reflect the goals of the Writing Program.
How to Submit an Essay to Intertext
To submit an essay, attach your work to an e-mail message in which you state the WRT course number, instructor, your address, and phone number. Include “Intertext Submission” in the subject line, and send the e-mail to Patrick W. Berry at pwberry@syr.edu . Submissions are accepted on a continuing basis. Selected essays will be considered for the annual Louise Wetherbee Phelps Writing Award for best lower- and upper-division essays of the year.
