"The purpose of this dissertation is to describe and evaluate the American administration of Moroland between 1899 and 1920. Included in this description is a discussion of the mandate given to the American administration, the political framework through which that administration functioned, the men chiefly responsible for its operation, the response of the Moro people to that administration, and its impact on some of their social and political institutions."--Page 3.
