Abstract
The Daily Orange, the independent newspaper of Syracuse, New York, has operated out of 744 Ostrom for more than 30 years. However, the paper will be moving to a new home in 2020 as Syracuse University uses the current space for new student housing. Following this development, The D.O. was in need of designed materials to create a campaign necessary to raise the hundreds of thousands of dollars moving will require. The motion work that resulted from my work on the campaign will be used on social media and The D.O.’s website to raise awareness of the paper’s need, as well as explain the history of the house and why potential donors should contribute. I used Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere to complete this work. What resulted was an explainer video one minute and 30 seconds in length.
