Abstract
Music Through the Lens of Film is a creative thesis project that is a visual EP. The project consists of three different videos for the songs featured on Sarah Gross’s EP, Between Stars, that all weave together to tell one over-arching story. The videos follow a couple as they fall in and out of love, showing the complications of love as well as the importance of finding your identity outside of a relationship. Each video depicts a separate stage of the relationship from beginning to end, however the videos are shown in reverse order to create a more interesting and lasting visual impact for the viewer. The goal of this project is to give another dimension of visual narrative and meaning to the music used for this piece and to give the work as a whole an intensified resonance.
