Description/Abstract
Reto Geiser (Rice University), Mira Henry (SCI-Arc), Leslie Lok (Cornell University) join first-year undergraduate studio coordinators Kyle Miller and David Shanks to discuss beginning design pedagogy. Presentations and a conversation moderated by Joseph Godlewski and Sharóne Tomer (Virginia Tech) will reflect on what is taught during the first months of an architectural design education, the history of such exercises, and how beginning design pedagogy prepares students for advanced study and diverse forms of professional practice.
