The primary function of this collection is to develop and connect civically engaged courses, assignments, and experiences across a range of curricular contexts and provide tools and materials for instructors who wish to implement civic engagement elements in their courses. Education, socialization, and reinforcement of civic skills is vitally important for university students, many of whom are entering into political and civic life for the first time. One of the key barriers to expanding civic engagement in the university setting is the lack of proper training and materials for course instructors. The materials and guides on this page are designed to help overcome some of those barriers by lowering the amount of time and effort an instructor must invest to create new civic engagement modules or adapt existing modules to a new course. This collection is designed to support instructors across disciplines as they work to create civically-engaged curricula. It will include assignment sheets, prompts, and reflections on the implementation and sustainability of such projects.
