Description/Abstract

Military spouses face significantly higher unemployment and underemployment than civilians, earning about 38% less on average. Frequent PCS moves, licensing barriers, childcare challenges, and mismatched job opportunities contribute to job instability. Most spouses struggle to find flexible, suitable work despite high education levels and extensive relocation demands.
