Description/Abstract

In this illustrated lecture Peter D. Verheyen, bookbinder and head of preservation at Syracuse University Bird Library, will discuss the book arts as practiced in New York state over the past 100 years. Topics included the training required to become a binder, the types of materials used, the growth of book arts organizations and "centers," and a look into the future.
